Aliquots from a hapten-primed spleen cell population were transferred to irradiated syngcneic hosts. Immune inactivation of hapten-coupled bacteriophage was used to assay antibody. IgM and IgG antibodies were determined by the combined reduction-hapten- inhibition method [5]. Excellent memory was found in the production of IgM antibodies by primed cells. Proportionally more IgM anti-hapten was produced when the density of primed cells was low than when the density was high. © 1968 S. Karger AG, Basel.
