OBSERVATION OF VIBRATIONAL-EXCITATION IN H2O PRODUCED IN THE REACTION OF OH WITH CYCLOOCTANE

摘要
Time-resolved diode laser infrared absorption/gain spectroscopy was used to investigate vibrational energy disposal in H2O produced in the reaction of OH with cyclooctane. Persistant population inversions under multiple-collision conditions were observed while probing transitions between the 000-010, 010-020, and 010-100 vibrational states of H2O. An equilibrated rotational temperature was determined to be 500 +/- 200 K for typical reaction conditions.
