摘要：

The main properties of glass electrodes with a solid internal contact based on alkali metal alloys are described. All the characteristics of such electrodes are highly stable and reproducible. The electrodes are interchangeable and may be used with factory calibration. Another type of glass electrode, the redox glass electrode, is described from the point of view of the selectivity of redox measurements. Finally, a cell for the potentiometric determination of the chemical oxygen demand (COD), consisting of glass electrodes of both the types mentioned, is given as an example.
