IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR PROCESSING BI-BASED HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTING TAPES AND FILMS FOR BULK APPLICATIONS

摘要
This article has shown that there is a very wide parameter space for processing BSCCO tapes and films. In these complicated systems, it is of the utmost importance to develop a fundamental understanding of the interrelationships between chemistry and processing, and the resulting microstructure and electromagnetic properties if long lengths of high Jctapes and films for bulk applications are to be reliably made. Recent progress has been rapid, as is detailed in the companion article by Kato et al., 7 making high Tc superconducting magnet technology likely within the next few years. © 1992, Materials Research Society.
