QUASI-2-DIMENSIONAL TIME-DOMAIN COLOR MEMORIES - PROCESS LIMITATIONS AND POTENTIALS

摘要
Coherent-transient-based, frequency-selective, optical memories (time-domain optical memories) have been proposed as a means of achieving ultrahigh-density and high-speed optical storage. An analogy with existing storage devices suggests an implementation that uses discrete spatial storage cells arrayed on a two-dimensional surface. We analyze fundamental process potential relating to data storage density for memories of this particular configuration.
