SPEED-DEPENDENT T2-RELAXATION RATES OF MICROWAVE EMISSION SIGNALS

摘要
We report on studies of the coherence decay for pulse-induced transient emission signals in microwave spectroscopy. The treatment of absorber-speed-dependent decay rates is extended with consideration of the dependence of the rates on the relative speed of the colliding molecules. Observation for speed-dependent rates are reported for the rotational transitions J = 2-1 of OCS and J = 1-0 of HCCF, as well as for the l-type doublet transition with J = 9 of (HCN)-N-15 in the first excited bending vibrational state. The experimental results are also compared with theoretical predictions from binary collision theories.
