STATUS OF THE CERAMIC MULTICHANNEL PM TUBE

摘要
The technological advances in the multilayer ceramics field have made it possible to mass-produce components suitable for the fabrication of a new type of multichannel electron multiplier. This component uses a set of metallic dynodes similar to those in classical multichannel device, so that similar performance is to be expected. The elaboration of 6-stage prototypes have confirmed the potentiality of this technique. Some first results will be presented, showing acceptable values for the secondary emission for the mini-dynodes. These results have encouraged us to investigate adapting this process to specific photodetector needs. In particular, a compact, square, 256 pixels PM tube could be developed in a near future.
