NONLINEAR CLUSTERING IN THE CFA REDSHIFT SURVEY

摘要
We analyze the counts in cell statistics (PN) in the CfA redshift survey. The motivation is the verification of, the theoretical predictions recently obtained by Balian and Schaeffer in the framework of scale-invariant correlation functions. Two different scaling forms have been predicted. We found that the PN well satisfy these scalings in the expected range. This strongly supports the idea that the hypothesis of scale invariance provides a useful framework for understanding clustering in the nonlinear regime.
