摘要
A methodology for the evaluation of catalyst performances in direct coal liquefaction is proposed. It consists in the determination of simple analytical and instrumental parameters accessible during a run thanks to a close control of thermal sequences in a batch reactor. A multistage hydroliquefaction procedure has been developed and the positive influence of an intermediate hydrogenation step upon subsequent hydrogen incorporation has been evidenced. The presence of a minimum amount of catalyst is essential in order to avoid retrogressive reactions. The performances of unsupported high surface area iron oxides has been evaluated at low catalyst to coal ratio. These iron oxides are superior to red mud and can be improved by incorporation of small amounts of molybdenum.
