A MOSSBAUER STUDY OF FE CLUSTERS GROWN IN AG MATRIX

摘要
Since Fe and Ag are immiscible, we have tried to obtain fcc Fe clusters embedded in the Ag matrix using an ionized cluster beam (ICB) technique together with thermal evaporation or ion beam sputtering. Mossbauer spectra at 4.2 K of a sample with the composition ratio Fe/Ag = 45/55 could be fitted by two sextets with hyperfine fields of about 355 and 336 kOe and a singlet with an isomer shift of 0.26 mm s-1.
