摘要
A timing circuit is described operating with Čerenkov counters of low light yield. Resolving times of 2 × 0.8 ns were measured with two counters, each producing an average of less than 5 collected photoelectrons. Light pulser measurements with 1000 photoelectrons yielded a resolving time of 2 × 70 ps. Design considerations, operating characteristics, and measurements with light pulser, with Čerenkov counters, and with the beam knockout system of the Stanford two-mile accelerator are discussed. © 1968.
