摘要
The concentration changes in a protein solution that are caused by the nucleation and crystal growth have been measured under various well-defined conditions. The results have been compared with thoretical predictions by a set of simple differential equations representing nucleation and crystal growth. Reasonable agreement was found. It was possible, through the comparison. to deduce the number of molecules that constitute the critical nucleus, and the product of the kinetic coefficients of nucleation and growth. The results have been discussed in connection with the characteristics of the crystal growth of proteins.
