RADIATION FROM DIELECTRIC WAVE-GUIDE STEP DISCONTINUITIES - A BOUNDED APPROACH

摘要
The bounded approach proposed by Brooke and Kharadly is a simple but accurate approximate method for analyzing the discontinuity problems of the open-type planar dielectric waveguides; its usefulness in calculating the power properties has been illustrated [1, 2]. We find that the radiation patterns can also be obtained by using the bounded approach. The results present good agreement with those based on other rigorous approaches, in particular, around the main-beam direction, which is usually the most important part to be determined.
