摘要
The oxidation of the Pt80Co20(001) surface was studied at oxygen pressures lower than 1 x 10(-5) Torr and temperatures higher than 600 K by a combination of surface-sensitive techniques. The results obtained by XPS and LEIS indicate that the film of oxide grows forming islands of uniform thickness of the order of a single CoO layer. The LEED results indicate that the structure of the islands is related to that of bulk cobalt monoxide.
