Recently the technique of plate and screw fixation has been applied to fractures in the bones of the hands and feet. There have been few reported complications, and therefore an intraoperative complication is presented to show the narrow margin for technical error in the method of treatment as applied in the hand. A case of postoperative flexor tendon rupture due to laceration by an osteosynthesis screw is presented.
