AN EXAMPLE OF STRUCTURAL FRAGILITY IN COSMOLOGY

With the help of a concrete example we give an example of fragility in cosmological modelling by showing that generic properties with respect to certain perturbations may not survive, once other physically motivated perturbations are allowed to be present. Furthermore the nature of this fragility is seen to be complicated, with the most destabilizing perturbations not being a priori obvious. This could be of importance in cosmological modelling. © 1990 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
