摘要
The azomethine proton chemical shift of thirteen para-substituted neutral Schiff bases, XC6H4CHNC6H4Y, has been determined in DMSO. Excellent correlation of the chemical shifts of azomethine group with Hammet σp constants was obtained for substituents in the benzaldehyde moiety. The lack of correlation for substituents in the aniline ring was attributed to the non-planar structure of the benzalaniline derivatives. © 1979.
