RAMAN SPECTRUM OF BROMINE CRYSTAL

摘要
The Raman spectrum of the bromine crystal was observed at 77°K, and it was compared with the corresponding spectrum of the chlorine crystal. The observed lattice vibrational frequencies and the crystalfield splitting of the intramolecular stretching vibration indicate stronger intermolecular interaction in the bromine crystal than that in the chlorine crystal. This conclusion is also supported from the normal coordinate calculation.
