摘要
A spatial imaging photometer has been developed to spectroscopically probe the internal concentration profile of H2O in polyvinylchloride-based K+-sensitive membranes. Addition to the membrane of the water-sensitive dye CoCl2 provides a means of spectroscopically observing the permeation of H2O. An initial rate of H2O uptake occurs with a diffusion coefficient of 3 × 10-7 cm2/s. A second stage then begins with light scattering centres being induced by H2O uptake, with an apparent diffusion coefficient of 3 × 10-8 cm2/s. © 1990.
