MODELING OF TURBULENT FLOWS WITHIN PLANT URBAN CANOPIES

摘要
This research describes a turbulence model for flows within plant and urban canopies. An ensemble-averaging procedure followed by spatial averaging was used in this study to elucidate the statistical properties of flows. A filter function was used for spatial averaging. This function facilitated the treatment of volume change of solid bodies within a spatially averaged region. The models presented in this research were closed by the semi-empirical scheme of Launder et al. (1975). Calculated results derived from the models were in good agreement with measured data for both the plant canopy and the urban canopy flows.
