摘要
Foxhounds [284] and other kenneled dogs were examined for cestodes by purgation with arecoline acetarsol. The species recovered were Dipylidium caninum, T. hydatigena, T. multiceps, T. ovis and T. pisiformis. Their occurrence in the different groups of dogs are related to feeding conditions. Foxes [111] examined for intestinal helminths were found to be commonly infected with Toxocara canis (72.1%) and Uncinaria stenocephala (70.3%); the taeniid cestodes T. hydatigena (0.9%) and T. pisiformis (18.9%) were identified and their occurrence related to the feeding habits of the fox. The prevalence of T. hydatigena and T. multiceps metacestodes in a sample of locally slaughtered lambs was 25.2% and 0.5%, respectively.
