摘要
The 21.3-h half-life -ray emitter Mg28 was produced in the Mg26(t, p)Mg28 reaction and the subsequent radiations were studied with Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) detectors. Strong rays with measured energies of 400.60.2, 941.70.4, and 1342.20.2 keV were found to be in coincidence with the 30.6-keV rays from the Al28 first excited state, in agreement with earlier results. Four additional weak rays detected in Mg28 decay include a -ray energy of 1589.40.4 keV in coincidence with the 30.6-keV ray, a -ray energy of 648.10.5 keV in coincidence with the 941.7-keV ray, and two ground-state -ray transitions having energies of 1620.00.4 and 1372.80.2 keV. In the proposed level scheme, Mg28 decays with a 951% -ray branch (logft=4.490.03) to the J=1+ 1372.8 0.2-keV level of Al28, and with a 51% -ray branch (logft=4.590.08) to a 1620.00.4-keV level which we assign a spin parity of J=1+. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
