ADSORPTION AND POLYMERIC FILM FORMATION AT MERCURY-ELECTRODES BY SOLUTIONS OF LEAD(II) AND CHELATING LIGANDS CONTAINING A THIOETHER GROUP

摘要
The adsorption on mercury of the complexes of several chelating carboxylate ligands bearing thioether groups with Pb(II) and some other d10 metal cations is examined. The extraordinarily large adsorption observed with a number of complexes is attributed to the formation of new phases on the mercury electrode surface. The structure of the adsorbed films may resemble the polymeric crystals formed by several metal salts of the same ligands. © 1978, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
