PHOTOIONIZATION CROSS-SECTIONS FOR ATOMIC OXYGEN

The R-matrix method is used to obtain cross-sections for the photoionization of atomic oxygen from the 2S(2)2p4 3P state of O to the 2S(2)2p3 S-4(o), D-2(o), P-2(o) and 2s2p4 4P, 2P states O+. Earlier calculations for the S-4(o) and the D-2(o) O+ states are shown to be reliable but the present results reveal considerable discrepancies for the other final ion states, in particular for the 4P and 2P states for which an inner electron is ejected.
