The aim of the present work was to study the behaviour of the d. c. conductivity and thermoelectric power for Co-Zn ferrites during the transition through the Curie temperature. A series of samples of the system Co//1// minus //xZn//xFe//2O//4 (x equals 0. 3, 0. 4, 0. 6, 0. 8 and 1) was prepared by the ceramic technique. The transition temperature shifts to lower values due to increasing zinc content. The activation energy for conduction in the disordered state decreases with increasing zinc content. Cobalt exists in two valence states in Co-Zn ferrites. 12 Refs.
