摘要
The one-electron reduction potentials of seven methoxy-substituted benzene radical cations in aqueous solutions have been determined by means of pulse radiolysis. In addition, the rate of the reaction between OH- and the radical cation has been measured for 1,4- and 1,2-dimethoxybenzene. A general equation for reduction potentials of 1,4-substituted benzene radical cations has been derived taking into account experimental results from this work and results and estimations found in the literature.
