OPTICAL-SPECTRA OF DIAMOND-LIKE CARBON-FILMS IN THE ENERGY REGION BETWEEN 1 AND 13 EV

摘要
The transmission and reflection spectra of diamond-like films deposited by vacuum arc carbon plasma fluxes and of hydrogenated condensates obtained by decomposition of gaseous hydrocarbons in an electric discharge were studied in the broad energy region 1-13 eV. The optical characteristics of diamond-like films are compared with similar data for graphite, glassy carbon and diamond. The measured energy gap E(g) ranges between 1 and 3.5 eV, varying with deposition conditions. The relation between the optical spectra of diamond-like films and the features of their structure and their macroscopic properties are discussed.
