摘要
A data base management system is developed specifically for the parallel implementation of CFD algorithms. The data base is designed to manage computational grids as a collection of solution blocks and their interfaces. A machine portable parallel library is used for receive and send operations, allowing the data base to be used on different parallel machines as well as on a network of workstations. The latter application provides flexibility in achieving load balancing by treating several blocks in a processor as different processes. Applications of the data base on an Inter iPSC/860 hypercube and a network of IBM RS-6000 workstations are demonstrated. Using the data base program, two CFD codes, one finite volume and the other finite element based, are parallelized. The details of implementation are given. Speedup and efficiency issues are discussed.
