摘要
Twenty-eight species of micro-organism were isolated from mushroom components, viz. paddy straw, spent grass of Java citronella. sugar cane bagasse and water-hyacinth. The composition of the micro-flora varied with the stage of composting. Aspergillus, Penicillium, Bacillus and Streptomyces were predominant at all stages. Among micro-organisms screened Aspergillus and Bacillus exhibited the highest cellulase activity. pretreatment with a mixture of fungi, actinomycetes and bacteria degraded cellulose and lignin of paddy straw by up to 74% and 57%, respectively, within 22 days, compared with 46% of the cellulose and 25% of the lignin in the untreated control. Maximum increase in nitrogen (70%) was observed in stubbles degraded by the mixture of organisms. This was significantly higher (p = 0.05) than the untreated control.
