摘要
A finite dimensional hamiltonian approach leads to a straightforward analytical description of light pulses in the presence of diffraction, dispersion and optical Kerr effect. In particular, the formalism allows us to recover in a general way the stability properties of so-called "light bullets", that is radially symmetric pulses propagating without distortion.
