摘要
The present work reports on rocket measurements of electrons, positive ions and particles with energies greater than 40 keV in the ionospheric D-region. From the particle data the height variation of the production of ion-pairs is derived. This in turn is combined with the electron and ion measurements in an attempt to estimate the numerical values of the ion-ion recombination coefficient αi. The results indicate a variation of αi from 10-6 to 10-7 cm sec-1 in the height range from 70 to 80 km. © 1969.
