THE STRUCTURE OF A COPPER(I)-SCHIFF BASE COMPLEX [CUN(CH2CH2N=CH-C6H5)3]+[BPH4]-

摘要
A crystal structure analysis of [CuN(CH2CH2NCHC6H5)3]+[BPh4]- reveals that the complex has approximate three-fold symmetry in the solid state with the copper(I) atom having trigonal-pyramidal geometry. Principal dimensions are CuN (apical) 2.232(2), CuN(equatorial) 2.004, 2.006 and 2.019(2) Å, N(ap)CuN(eq) 83.7-84.6(1)°. The CuH distances to the ortho-phenyl hydrogen atoms are too long to be considered agostic. The 1H NMR spectrum is consistent with a similar structure for the copper(I) cation complex in solution. © 1990.
