摘要
Experiments are reported on purification and crystal growth of niobium single crystals crystals for use in neutron irradiation studies on properties of the samples. Electron beam float zone melting was used with high oxygen partial pressure to reduce the carbon level. A high resistance ratio and low flow stress were obtained after high temperature anneal in high vacuum. Extensive material properties are reported for the niobium at various stages of the purification process.
