摘要
Regional and local gravity anomaly data are presented for the volcanic island of Lanzarote, the most easterly of the Canary Island group. In combination with gravity data from other Canary islands, the present results confirm the gradational position of the islands between a truly oceanic and truly continental environment. The local anomaly indicates a large, central igneous centre beneath the south-central part of the island and also reflects the dominant ENE structural trend that can be observed at the surface. An interpretation of the regional and local gravity data is attempted, and some broader genetic implications are briefly discussed. © 1969.
