摘要
The effect of Cr underlayer thickness on recording properties of CoCrTa media is reported. The bulk magnetic properties of the experimental discs were controlled in an attempt to isolate effects due to differences of underlayer morphology and crystallographic properties. In comparing films of similar bulk magnetic properties, recording performance advantages are observed with the films fabricated on thin chromium underlayers. © 1990 IEEE
