摘要：

A method of vehicle location is discussed in which the attenuation of the signal from a mobile transmitter is measured. A test system and procedure for obtaining data is described. A series of curves are developed which specify the anticipated error for a four-station grid. The signal strength measurements could be very tedious and time consuming, but a system was devised that makes it possible to automate the procedure. This system, called the signal amplitude sampler and totalization unit (SASTU), is fully described. Copyright © 1970 by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.
