A search for C IV lambda-lambda-1548, 1550 absorption associated with Ly-alpha forest clouds is attempted, using a method similar to the composite spectrum method developed by Norris, Hartwick, & Peterson. We tentatively report a detection of C IV lambda-1548 absorption feature at greater-than-or-equal-to 99.99% significance level. If confirmed, not all Ly-alpha clouds have primordial composition. Assuming that the absorption feature is real, we estimate the relative abundance of carbon of the Ly-alpha forest clouds to be roughly [C/H] approximately -3.2 from photoionization models. Some other interesting results are also discussed.
