One-particle wave-packet tunnelling in sinusoidally oscillating double-barrier heterostructures (DBH) is discussed here on the basis of simulation results obtained using the split operator scheme of Feit et al[1]. The characteristics of the side peaks in the momentum space representation of the wave packet caused by the oscillations of the potential and the effects of these on resonance tunnelling are analysed. Furthermore, the numerical results are compared with an analytical expression obtained for a spatially homogeneous Hamiltonian, giving the probabilities of inelastic interactions between the oscillating potential and the wave packet.
