GAIN AND OUTPUT-SATURATION LIMIT EVALUATION IN PR3+-DOPED FLUORIDE FIBER AMPLIFIER OPERATING IN THE 13 MU-M BAND

摘要
An optical gain of 13 dB, a pump efficiency of 0.022 dB/mW, and a signal output saturation power of +9 dBm were obtained experimentally in a Pr3+-doped fluorozirconate fiber amplifier operating in the 1.3-mu-m band. In addition, a theoretical calculation clarifies the gain and signal output-saturation limits.
