EARLY CHANGES IN EXOCRINE PANCREAS OF CAT DURING PERMANENT EXPERIMENTAL ISCHEMIA

In the center of the infarct coagulative and autodigestive necrosis of the acinar cells occur adjacent to one another, starting one hour after ligation. They are not completed before 12 hours. Furthermore the panceratic ducts, ductules, and interstitial tissue undergo necrosis. In the peripherical zone of the infarct acinar cells show hydropic swelling and necrosis, whereas the pancreatci ducts and the connective tissue remain unaffected. In the non-infarcted tissue degeneration of acinar cells is found, visible 6 hours after ligation and marked by vacuolization and degranulation of the cytoplasma and by clotting of the ergastoplasma. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
