摘要
The glomerular filtration barrier consists of complex matrix constitients interposed between the glomerular endothelial and epithelial cells, which constitute the lining of the glomerular capillaries. The matrix components include collagen and noncollagenous molecules such as laminin and proteoglycans. This review describes herein the metabolic consequences of diabetes mellitus to which increased permeability of the filtration barrier may be attributed by altering matrix molecules.
