摘要
The low temperature tilt of the CuO6 octahedra in La2-xBaxCuO4 with x≈0.12 was recently characterized and shown to couple strongly to the carriers. Various couplings and in particular the coupling of the tilt to the oxygen-oxygen in-plane CDW, are briefly discussed. There is an analogy in this respect between the low temperature tilt mode and the antisymmetric (340 cm-1) Raman mode in the 123 compounds. It is argued that the coupling of oxygen-oxygen in-plane CDW to the low temperature tilt tends to stabilize the observed low temperature tetragonal phase. © 1990.
