摘要
Lesion were made in the ventromedial hypothalamic area in rats by implantation of cannulas filled with gold thioglucose. Whenever this local application of gold thioglucose resulted in hyperphagia, all animals retained their 24 hr eating rhythm. Although there was an increase in food intake, the ratio of nighttime eating activity to the total 24 hr eating activity remained the same. This supports the hypothesis that cells which are involved in the 24 hr rhythm in eating activity are different from those responsible for the regulation of food intake. © 1979.
