In augmentation mammaplasty cases it has been impossible for the patient to relate to the doctor preoperatively exactly how large they want their new breasts to be. Many of these patients are uncomfortable because they are not given a realistic impression of how large they will be postaugmentation. We have devised a mammary sizer which gives the patient a better idea of how large she will be postaugmentation. It gives the doctor a better impression of what size implant to use to achieve the desired size. © 1979 Springer-Verlag New York Inc.
