SOME MINOR SECONDARY METABOLITES OF FUSARIUM-SPOROTRICHIOIDES DAOM 165006

More secondary metabolites were isolated in trace amounts from large-scale fermentations of Fusar ium sporotrichioides DAOM 165006. They included two trichothecenes, 4-deacetoxy T-2 toxin and 4,8-isoneosolaniol, and five new 11-epiapotrichothecenes. 4-Deacetoxy T-2 toxin is unique in that tri chothecenes from this species usually have an oxygen function at C-4. All the 11-epiapotrichothecene compounds isolated had an acetoxy moiety at C-2, and in addition some had oxygen functions at C-8 and C-15. The structures are interpreted in terms of the activity of the hydroxylases present in this fungal species. The absolute configuration of 13-hydroxy-3α, 11-epoxyapotrichothec-9-ene was also determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. © 1990, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
