OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE OF OPTICALLY PUMPED ROTOVIBRATIONAL MOLECULAR LASERS AT LOW-TEMPERATURES

摘要
The low-temperature operation and performance of the 19 mu m OCS and 16 mu m CF4 CO2-laser-pumped lasers is reported. Both in terms of output energy and operating pressure the performance of these lasers is shown to improve greatly with decreasing temperature in agreement with the predictions of a simple theoretical model.
