摘要
A source for the production of a thermal energy beam of Cl-35 atoms has been characterized by a Stem-Gerlach magnetic analysis of sublevels of the P-2(J) state. A detailed study of the Zeeman effect and of the behaviour of the effective magnetic moments has allowed the determination of the relative magnetic sublevel weights in the atomic beam and permits the variation of these sublevel weights in a controlled way during scattering experiments. The effect on electronic temperature of different gas mixtures in the source is studied.
