摘要
An overview is presented of the factors militating against the saccharification of lignocellulosic materials, pretreatments that may be used to improve on the extent of saccharification, recent advances in our understanding of the structure of cellulose, and the production, properties and mechanisms of action of the cellulolytic enzyme systems.
