摘要
Results from a series of laboratory experiments confirmed that the time required for lethal infection by the cabbage-looper (Trichoplusia ni) nuclear-polyhedrosis virus is inversely related to dosage level and environmental temperature. When host response to the environment was considered, the time for lethal infection was found to represent a constant percentage of the duration of the larval stage irrespective of environmental temperature. The inference was that pathogen-host interaction was directly related to host-environment response, further emphasizing the intricate relationship between an intracellular parasite and host physiology. © 1969.
