摘要
The results of measuring the saturated magnetic moment of pure, single-crystal Ni over the temperature range from 4.2°-300°K with an accuracy of 0.1% of the total moment are presented. A Foner-type vibrating sample magnetometer was used with an applied uniform field of 10 kOe in the [111] direction. The magnetic-moment data was extrapolated to zero applied field using the measured, temperature dependent saturated magnetic susceptibility. Using the appropriate thermodynamic equations, the derived magnetization at constant volume is presented and is compared to the NMR hyperfine field results. The temperature dependence of the hyperfine constant in the form A(T)=A(4.2)[1+CnTn], where n=32 and 2, is evaluated near 300°K. The T3/2 coefficient in the temperature dependence of the magnetization at constant volume is found to be (7.8±1.1)×10 -6°K-3/2 in zero applied field from 4.2 to 100°K. © 1969 The American Institute of Physics.
